KTXL‘s Studio40 host and morning reporter, Gary Gelfand is fighting for his life.
Just after the New Year, the FOX40 Sacramento personality announced his leukemia had returned and he’s now undergoing chemotherapy treatment. Eight years ago, he fought the same cancer according to the station’s website.
“Gary’s next step in his treatment is going to be a bone marrow transplant and as such has asked that we partner with the “Be The Match” program as part of the National Marrow Donor Program to grow the donor registry.”

Gelfand is seeking bone marrow donors and also financial assistance during this time. There is a YouCaring page set up in his name.
He last posted on his Facebook page on December 20.
