Sacramento Anchor Arrested in Theft Case Quits to Focus on Restoring Her ‘Good Name’

By Mark Joyella

Sabrina Rodriguez, the morning anchor at Sacramento ABC station KTXL, has announced via Twitter that she will resign to focus on defending herself after her arrest on grand theft, burglary, and conspiracy charges.

Rodriguez had been on leave since her arrest, which has generated coverage by competing stations. CBS station KOVR obtained court records in the case, including text messages that prosecutors say prove Rodriguez conspired with her fiance to steal and later sell designer handbags and clothes:

After several texts about logistics concerning how he’ll get home, Rodriguez replies: “Awesome. I love when a plan comes together.”
