Rumors Abound After KCBS’s Serene Branson Gives Shaky Grammys Report

By Andrew Gauthier

Los Angeles viewers were left wondering “What happened?” last night as KCBS reporter Serene Branson gave a stumbling, nearly incoherent live stand-up from the Grammys (video above).

At the top of KCBS’s late newscast following the Grammys, anchor Paul Magers checked in with Branson, who was stationed outside the Staples Center. Branson began her report with enthusiasm but her speech quickly became muddled and she looked confused.

“It is feared that she may have suffered a stroke on air,” UK newspaper The Telegraph reported last night, writing that Branson had been taken to the hospital.

A dubious-looking Twitter account was set up last night in Branson’s name. “I am not in the hospital,” read one tweet. “I’m sorry, it was just the nerves,” reads another.

Calls and emails to KCBS representatives have not yet been returned.  We’ll make sure to update this post as more information comes in.
