Rosie O’Donnell, a former star of daytime talk, is quietly preparing a return to television with two former Warner Brothers syndication executives.
Ms. O’Donnell has formed a company with the executives, and they intend to independently distribute a show next year, according to a person briefed on the plans, who requested anonymity because the plans had not been made public. Ms. ODonnell “wants to be her own boss,” the person said.
Online reports about the plans on Friday immediately created speculation in the television industry that Ms. ODonnell saw an opening in daytime TV in the fall of 2011, when Oprah Winfrey is set to step down from her daily show. More…
