NY1 anchor Roma Torre returns to the anchor desk today, five weeks after colon cancer surgery. “All through September when I met viewers on the street they asked about Roma. You don’t think of NY1 without thinking of her,” NY1 anchor Pat Kiernan told Capital New York. “So we’re all ecstatic that she’s coming back to sit in her usual chair.” Torre announced her cancer diagnosis back in August and took leave for treatment. She updated viewers with a tweet upon her return from the hospital:
