Rochester Fox Affiliate Cuts Away From World Series for News

By Kevin Eck

Mistakes always seem to happen during every big live event and this time it was Rochester, N.Y., Fox affiliate WUHF‘s turn.

At 1:07 a.m. ET, the Rochester Fox affiliate cut away before the decisive bottom of the 14th in game one of the World Series to show…local news. The station put the series back on mid way through a story about Abby Wambach’s retirement.

We contacted the station to find out what happened, but haven’t heard back. A quick check of TVEyes shows the station going to black after the end of the previous half-inning, then putting up a Fox Sports slate, then taking the local news. When they went back to the game, it wasn’t fullscreen.
