Robin Swoboda is leaving WKYC, the Cleveland NBC affiliate announced Tuesday. Her last day anchoring the 7 p.m. newscast will be February 28.
Swoboda and general manager Brooke Spectorsky told the Cleveland Plain-Dealer the departure was Swoboda’s choice.
“They asked me about doing others things, but they really didn’t have a platform that fit me,” Swoboda said. “I tried to do the straight news-anchor thing, but I just came to the realization that it wasn’t a good fit for me. I guess I’m still trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up.”
Swoboda, a longtime fixture in Cleveland television, joined WKYC in 2011.
