Robert Rockstroh has been named news director at Providence ABC-affiliate WLNE, the station announced today. He will start on January 4.
In announcing the hire, Tzianabos praised Rockstroh for being “a proven team builder and strategic thinker” who has “improved audience share at each of the stations he has worked for.”
“Robert has what it takes to grow our news product,” Tzianabos said.

Rockstroh joins WLNE from Verizon’s FiOs1 News in Rye Brook, NY, where he has been an executive producer for the past year. He replaces Irene Mahoney-Paige, who left the station last month.
