Rob Wilson Leaving WICU-WSEE After Nearly 14 Years

By Kevin Eck

Rob Wilson, meteorologist for Erie, PA, NBC and CBS affiliate WICU-WSEE, is leaving TV to be a financial planner.

Wilson told TVSpy his contract isn’t being renewed at the end of the year, “so after nearly 14 years here in Erie and almost 20 years in television I’ll be leaving the industry altogether.”

On his bio page, Wilson said he got his start at WJHG in Panama City, FL, while he was still in the Air Force. He also worked at KOLD in Tucson, AZ while being stationed at nearby Davis-Monthan AFB. His first job out of the Air Force in April 2000 was at WICU.

He said his last day, depending on accrued vacation days left, will be December 18. He plans to stay in the area.
