Rob Elgas is joining Chicago ABC-owned station WLS as a reporter and fill-in anchor.
Elgas left NBC-owned WMAQ in March to “to pursue some new opportunities.” He started at the station in 2002.
“Rob Elgas is an experienced journalist who has established a strong connection with Chicago viewers during his 13 years covering this area,” said WLS news director Jennifer Graves. “We welcome him to our newsroom with the knowledge he’ll hit the ground running and do a great job on the street as well as filling in on the anchor desk.”
He started his career as a photographer at WICD in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. He later worked at KVIA in El Paso before coming to Chicago in 2002.
