Roanoke Station WDBJ Boosts Signal to Expand Digital TV Coverage

Roanoke television station WDBJ-7 increased its broadcasting power nearly 50 percent yesterday to help more viewers receive its digital signal.

General Manager Jeffrey Marks said the CBS affiliate boosted its power around noon yesterday and then decreased the power again to work on some tuning and might do so again today. By the end of the day we should be back up at the higher power level, he said.

Many viewers in the Roanoke and Lynchburg market lost access to WDBJ when it cut off its analog signal in June to complete the digital TV transition. More… (via The News & Advance)
