Roanoke Station Promotes AM Anchor Rachel Lucas to Evenings

By Kevin Eck

Rachel Lucas has been named weekday evening anchor for WSLS in Roanoke, Va.

Lucas will replace Lindsey Ward, who is leaving the station next month. She’ll anchor at 5:30 and 6 p.m. alongside John Carlin and at 7 p.m. with Brittny McGraw, starting on March 7.

Lucas joined the NBC station in 2013 as a reporter and was promoted to weekend anchor one year later. She was named weekday morning anchor in 2019 and said her latest move was a dream come true.
