Rita Garcia has been named co anchor of the KRIV morning news effective immediately.
“Rita joined us two years ago from Los Angeles and made an immediate impact with her style, news instinct and engaging personality,” KRIV vice president and general manager D’Artagnan Bebel said in a statement. “We are happy to make this well-deserved opportunity available to her.”
Before working as the weekend anchor and reporter for the FOX owned Houston station, she was a freelance reporter for KCBS/KCAL in Los Angeles. She has also worked at KRGV in the Rio Grande Valley.
