WWBT anchor Gray Hall was trying to do his job, anchoring the news and reading the intro to a story in the studio during the Richmond NBC affiliate’s 6 a.m. newscast Wednesday. He didn’t really have time for a large flying insect to wander into the shot and raise the possibility of a live, on-camera wasp sting.
So Gray did what he had to do, using his scripts as wasp-swatters and employing his best blocking and parrying. He avoided a sting, but produced a lovely bit of unscripted television. Enjoy, via Gray’s Facebook page.
