Reporter May Face WFXT Colleague in Congress Bid

Two Fox 25 personalities could be competing for votes instead of ratings as outgoing traffic reporter Doug Meehan and morning political pundit Joseph D. Malone weigh bids for Congress in the same district.

Meehan, a Cape Cod native, said yesterday he’s mulling a Democratic run should U.S. Rep. William Delahunt opt out of a re-election campaign.

“I’m a native son of the 10th congressional district and, given the current political climate, I’m seriously considering it,” Meehan, 45, who is registered as an unenrolled or independent voter, told the Herald. “Now could be the time for a common man with common sense.”

Malone, the former state treasurer, said yesterday he’s almost 100 percent sure he’s going to take on Delahunt. More…
