Hartford NBC-owned station WVIT has announced the addition of Leslie Mayes to its news team. Matt Piacente, vice president of news at the station, confirmed the move with New England One on Tuesday.
Mayes previously worked at Time Warner Cable News in Charlotte, N.C., where she was a morning reporter and multimedia journalist.
Mayes announced the news of her departure on Facebook yesterday, writing:
After nine wonderful years and three different cities, I’m moving on from Time Warner Cable News because I’ve accepted a reporter position back up north! I’ve had a great ride in Charlotte, met so many amazing people and covered some great stories. The Queen City will always hold a special place in my heart and I’ll be taking ALL of the southern hospitality North Carolina has shown me over the last two years with me as I head back to the northeast!
Mayes starts her new position at WVIT on February 16.
