Reporter Leaving Huntsville’s WAFF

Jeanie Powell, one of the bright, young television reporters in this market for the last five years, has left WAFF-TV Channel 48 to take a job at Adtran.

Powell was a reporter and anchor for Channel 48 and won several Associated Press awards including Best Specialized Reporter for “WAFF 48 To Catch a Predator Reports”; Best Series, “Battling Sex Trafficking”; and Best Extraordinary Coverage of a Planned Event, “Lee H.S. Bus Crash: One Year Later.”

Powell is a Huntsville native who graduated from Grissom High School and the University of Alabama, where she majored in telecommunications and film. More…
