Reporter Jarrod Holbrook Leaving Boston for Tampa

By Aneya Fernando

4m8yTaHN_400x400Jarrod Holbrook, a freelance reporter for Boston Fox affiliate WFXT, is leaving Massachusetts for a warmer climate (and a full-time investigative reporter position) at Tampa ABC affiliate WFTS.

Holbrook decided to leave WFXT when, after five years, the station declined to give him a full-time reporter position. However, Holbrook only had good things to say to New England One about his time there:

“I have to say it’s been a huge honor to have worked with such wonderful people for the last 12 years in New England. From Providence to Boston there are so many hard working, dedicated journalists who care about getting it right. I’m fortunate to have been in Boston to experience first hand how resilient a city can be in the face of adversity, and learn what being BOSTON STRONG is all about!”

Holbrook’s wife Sorboni Banerjee is currently a morning anchor at WFXT. There’s no word yet on whether she’ll be joining her husband in Tampa.

Holbrook begins his new position in May.
