Reporter Clarifies Tweet About Arrest of ‘Dead and Naked’ Man

By Mark Joyella

Stephanie Gorin, a reporter at Plattsburgh, New York NBC affiliate WPTZ had a pretty wild story–tweeting that police had arrested a man found “dead and naked in a family’s front lawn.” As Jim Romenesko noted, “I bet the charge wasn’t resisting arrest.”

Gorin clarified the tweet later, saying “we’re learning a new computer system” and she didn’t proofread the tweet properly. So, was he alive but naked, or dead but dressed, or something altogether different–maybe not in a family’s front lawn?
