Minneapolis NBC affiliate KARE has named Reggie Wilson as sports director.

Wilson, who starts Sept. 20, takes over for Eric Perkins who left the station last Sunday.

He’ll work alongside anchors Julie Nelson, Randy Shaver and meteorologist Belinda Jensen weekdays at 6 and 10 p.m. He’ll also report live from the field.

KARE president and general manager Bill Dallman said Wilson will be a “dynamic addition” to the Tegna-owned station.

“Reggie is a sports journalist who will work sources to get interviews and break major developments on all the teams in the Twin Cities and Western Wisconsin area,” said Dallman.

“I have long respected KARE 11’s journalism and I couldn’t be more excited to join this talented team,” said Wilson. “I look forward to embedding myself within the Twin Cities and surrounding communities. It’s game time and I’m ready to get to work!”

Wilson comes from WCPO in Cincinnati, Ohio. He’s also worked in Ohio, Missouri and Kansas.
