KTAZ, the Telemundo station in Phoenix, has announced the addition of Rebeka Diaz and Daniel Aguirre to its news team. The duo will anchor “Noticiero Telemundo Arizona,” airing weekdays at 4:30 p.m, 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m on both KTAZ and KHRR (Telemundo Tucson).
Diaz and Aguirre will join meteorologist Henry Golac and sports anchor Diego Santiago on the show, along with a roster of reporters.
Additionally, Ruben Pereida will now serve as anchor for “Noticiero Telemundo Arizona,” on weekends at 4:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
“Today’s announcement reflects our obligation to hiring and building the best news teams possible, so we can deliver best-in-class reporting the way our viewers demand and deserve,” said KHRR and KTAZ news director Andrea Ospina. “Rebeka and Daniel are a formidable team whose vast journalistic experience will help us enhance our news delivery on weekdays and Ruben’s new role as our weekend news anchor will help us round out a strong news operation to better serve our viewers seven days of the week.”
Diaz previously worked at Efekto Noticias in Mexico City, where she worked as an anchor. Aguirre joined KTAZ in June 2014 as a multimedia journalist. Prior to this, he worked at Milenio Noticias in Monterrey, Mexico, where he was lead anchor. Pereida has been an anchor at KTAZ since February 2013.
