Raycom has named Scott Thomas vp and GM of KFVS-WQWQ, its Cape Girardeau CBS and CW affiliates.
Thomas was promoted from his role as director of Sales and replaces Dave Thomason who moved to Raycom’s Huntsville, Ala. station WAFF.
“We did a comprehensive nation-wide search to find the right person to fill this important position,” said Nick Simonette, Group vp. “As it turned out, the right person was already here and running this fine TV station. Scott brings a wealth of experience and success to this job. He is a proven leader.”
Thomas has worked as GM of KWES in Midland, Texas, as GSM of KALB in Alexandria, La., and GM of KTAL in Shreveport, La.
“I’ve worked at numerous TV stations over the years,” continued Thomas. “But there’s no question that being General Manager of KFVS12 is the highlight of my career.”
