Pregnant Denver Meteorologist Fights Back Against Body-Shamers

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

KUSA anchor Becky Ditchfield set the record straight about online bullies, being pregnant on air and how hard it is to read what critics have to say on a daily basis.

Ditchfield made an appearance on the Today show last week. She said she got fed up with viewer complaints about her belly getting in the way of the forecasting so she decided to use science and snark to fight back.

She got out a tape measure to measure her bump. She also measured the amount of space it took up on the weather wall to shut down the haters who were exaggerating her size.

“As social media and the platforms have grown and we’ve all become more involved in them, it’s become a sport for people,” she said in an interview with WestWord. “Why can’t we all just be kinder to one another and focus on the positive instead of the negative and making other people feel bad so you feel better?”

Ditchfield says she still has at least a month to go in this pregnancy and that choosing outfits everyday has been a challenge.
