WCSH meteorologist Tom Johnston, who was reported missing Monday, has been found dead.
“We are heartbroken to share with you news that our friend and our colleague, Tom Johnston, was found dead last night. His body was found in Auburn according to police. They told us he died of an apparent suicide and ruled out anything suspicious or foul play,” the station reported on this morning’s newscast.
The Auburn, Maine police department posted an update on Facebook saying Johnston’s body had been located. Johnston never returned home Saturday after covering an event for the station.
Johnston has been the meteorologist at the Tegna-owned station for three years. Before that, he worked in various markets including Jacksonville and Fort Myers.
