Sally Ramirez has been named executive news director at TEGNA-owned Houston CBS affiliate KHOU.
Ramirez comes from TEGNA-owned KGW in Portland, Oregon where she was the assistant news director.
“We are thrilled to have Sally join us,” said Susan McEldoon, KHOU president & GM. “She has a solid news background, a history of innovation and will be instrumental in transforming KHOU into a digital first newsroom.”

Before joining KGW in 1998, Ramirez worked at KCRA in Sacramento. She started her career at KTSM in El Paso, Texas and has also worked at KVOA in Tucson, Arizona, WRC in Washington, D.C. and WGN in Chicago.
