Popular San Antonio Reporter Leaving For Dallas’s KXAS

According to reports from Jeanne Jakle of San Antonio’s Express-News, popular WOAI general assignments reporter Kim Fischer will be leaving the station for an opportunity in Dallas.

KXAS has offered Fischer a reporting job, one that apparently comes with more potential for advancement than WOAI was offering.

“My GM did everything she could in her power to keep me, but there is a pecking order [for anchoring],” she told Jakle. “The offer here just couldn’t compare to what was being offered in Dallas.”

Fischer’s last day on-air for WOAI is Friday. She’ll begin at KXAS on September 1.

Fischer will certainly be missed in San Antonio. In a blog post, Jakle announced, “It’s hankie time, guys! WOAI-TV’s Divine Miss Kim–as in Fischer–is leaving San Antonio.” More…
