Political Reporter Out at WLNE

By Kevin Eck

Mark Curtis, anchor and political reporter for Providence, R.I. ABC affiliate WLNE, is no longer with the station.

Curtis told viewers on his facebook page, “Today, I learned a very profound lesson in perspective. At 11:15 a.m. I lost my job. The outpouring of support from my friends, family and colleagues has overwhelmed me.”

Before coming to WLNE in 2010, Curtis worked as chief Washington, D.C. correspondent for COX-owned TV stations and later served as the morning anchor for KTVU in the San Francisco Bay Area.

He went on to mourn the sudden death of 36-year old actor and Miller High Life spokesperson Windell D. Middlebrooks. “We had a blast working on the first season of “Body of Proof” in Providence,” added Curtis.”Even though he was a star of the show, he was very kind and friendly and mingled with us “extras!”

Curtis’ wikipedia page credits him as being a stand up comic who once worked with Will Durst, a professional musician in the late 70’s and early 80’s, a jingle writer and former legislative aide and Congressional Fellow in the offices of Rep. Charles Schumer, (D-NY) and Sen. Herb Kohl, (D-WI).
