Police Investigate Bomb Threat at WJLA

D.C. police were called in to investigate a bomb threat at Allbritton’s WJLA earlier this week.

Around noon on Monday, news quickly spread through the station that someone had called the front desk saying that there was a bomb in the office.

While one reporter panicked, most staffers laughed it off, according to FishbowlDC.

“Our news desk knew about it and were not worried and kinda laughed it off,” a WJLA employee told TVSpy sister site FishbowlDC.  “This reporter stood outside for awhile until she got bored. No one else evacuated. The police came and investigated the place. Not a big deal at all. Just kinda funny.”

After searching the premises with special equipment and bomb-sniffing dogs, police concluded that there was no bomb.
