Police Arrest Suspect After He Approaches WSB News Crew During Live Shot

Early Tuesday morning, police were called to an apartment complex in southeast Atlanta after a couple was spotted methodically slashing car tires around 2 a.m. Cops arrested a woman after she had turned a knife on one of the complex’s residents, but her accomplice remained at large.

At least until a WSB news crew showed up to cover the incident.

After fleeing from police just minutes earlier, the man approached WSB reporter Amanda Cook and offered to speak as a witness to the crime. According to WSB, Cook’s photographer recognized the man and the news desk alerted police, who arrived and arrested him. (Video here).

It seems that the man wanted to speak with Cook so that he could pin the incident on her.  “He did tell us that his wife takes a lot of Xanax and sometimes she goes crazy,” Cook reported.

WSB plans to run the interview later today.
