PIX 11 Awards Schools Money for Supplies

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

WPIX, the flagship Tribune station in New York, is helping teachers close the gap on school supply spending.

For the third year in the row, PIX 11 will host the Fuel My School initiative. Schools in the area will submit essays to the station outlining their needs in order to achieve academic goals.

The winning elementary school, middle school and high school will be awarded $11,000 each, and runner-ups will receive $5,000.
