Bofta Yimam has been named weekend morning anchor for Pittsburgh, Pa. ABC affiliate WTAE.
She replaces Jackie Cain, who will anchor the new 7 p.m. on WTAE’s digital subchannel station thisTV.
“Bofta is a talented journalist, who is passionate about the Pittsburgh community,” said WTAE president and gm, Charles W. Wolfertz III. “She has been a strong asset to Action News Investigates and we look forward to her help in maintaining our dominance in the weekend mornings.”

Yimam, who was an investigative reporter for nearly three years, joins meteorologist Ashley Dougherty from 5 to 7 a.m. and 8 to 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
