Pittsburgh Sports Anchor Tells Men to ‘Be Better’ After Getting Sexist Messages on Social Media

Pittsburgh sports anchor Emily Giangreco is telling men to “be better” after getting messages from a male viewer who said she was nothing more than a “sex object.”

The WTAE sports anchor said she posted the viewer’s messages on her Twitter account to show the level of what she faces. In one, the man questions how many players have “ran through” her and in another, he tells her she’s nothing more than a “sex object.”

“I’m posting this to continue to raise awareness of how women in sports are harassed on a daily basis,” said Giangreco. “I worked all 4 years of college to afford an education, graduated with a degree in my field and have over 6 years of experience..yet still reduced to this. Men, be better.”
