Phoenix Anchor Isolates After Possible Covid-19 Exposure on Vacation

After vacationing with seven friends, KPHO anchor Brandon Lee says five of them have tested positive for Covid-19. Lee, who anchors the 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. shows at the Phoenix station, started isolating on July 14, as the friends were in close proximity during the trip.

“Sadly, five very good friends of mine who I spent time with recently in North Georgia tested positive for Covid,” Lee said. “They all had fevers. One lost all sense of smell. Out of caution I have self-quarantined and grateful to have the support of my bosses. I feel OK. No symptoms.”

Lee went to a rapid testing site this week and got tested for the virus. A few hours later he posted his results: negative.

“So grateful. Test came back negative,” he said. “Huge props to @ASUBiodesign who got me test results in 24 hours! And waited less than 30 min to get tested. My friends who are sick are all recovering. I don’t understand this virus or how I escaped it, but I do know I always wear a mask.”
