Philly’s Newest Main Anchor Comes From Iowa

Philadelphia’s newest anchor is coming from Des Monies, Iowa.

Shaina Humphries will join WXTF as the station’s newest 6 and 11 p.m. co-anchor.

“We are so impressed by Shaina’s ability to connect to viewers through her passionate storytelling. She is a perfect match for Philly, the most passionate TV market in the country,” said vice president and news director Jim Driscoll.

Most recently, Humphries served as an anchor and reporter for KCCI. She spent a year investigating the local opioid crisis and hosted a 90-minute program on the problem while acting as the station’s 9 p.m. anchor.

She is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign, and also holds a master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
