Paul Konrad Assures Chicagoans WGN Won’t Change Under Sinclair

After having the same parent company since 1948 (with a Sam Zell pitstop along the way) you can imagine the anxiety that wafted through WGN in Chicago yesterday when news came that Tribune was selling to Sinclair.

So morning news weather guy Paul Konrad headed over to the Courtesy Counter to explain how WGN will still be WGN.

“We are going to continue to deliver the excellence that has brought us to this point. We are the leaders in innovation and technology,” said Konrad as he showed viewers the “snow tube” a tall plastic tube used to measure snowfall. “This is what’s gonna set us apart. And this is why they wanted to buy us.”
