Indianapolis ABC affiliate WRTV is losing over 80 years of experience tomorrow.
Photojournalist Danny Wills (pictured right) started at WRTV on October 4, 1973.
“[Wills] was responsible for preparing daily news film and commercial slides, which included manually creating lower-third supers,” writes the station. “As the business began to transition, so did Danny. He went from Photo Lab Tech, to Film Editor, to Video Tape Editor, to Photographer… working with film, three-quarter inch tape, Beta tape, P2 Cards and SD Cards.”
His last day is Friday.
Senior reporter Jack Rinehart (pictured left) joined two years later on November 10, 1975.
“During his four decades in Indianapolis, Jack has broken thousands of stories, covered hundreds of exclusives and established himself as one of the most trusted reporters in the market,” says the station. “His career highlights include an Emmy Award, Associated Press Awards, a CASPER Award, and the state’s most prestigious award, the “Sagamore of the Wabash,” given to him by former Indiana Governor, Robert Orr.”
