Orlando Reporter Leaving for Government Job

Eryka Washington is leaving Orlando CBS affiliate WKMG to work as public information officer for one of Florida’s newly elected state attorneys.

Washington, who started at WKMG as a reporter and fill-in anchor, will work for Aramis Ayala who was elected state attorney for Orange and Osceola counties.

“For the last three years, WKMG has provided me with the wonderful opportunity to help viewers in need Get Results,” Washington told Orlando Sentinel TV reporter Hal Boedeker. “I am incredibly proud of the support and relief we were able to give so many viewers. More importantly, I am honored to have been a part of the team that helped News 6 become one of Central Florida’s most-watched news programs.”
