Orlando News Chopper Finds Missing Kid

By Kevin Eck

On Monday, Sky6, the news chopper for Orlando CBS affiliate WKMG, found a ten-year-old boy who ran away from his school in Orlando. The kid, who was wearing an orange hoodie, was in some heavy brush behind the school.

Sky6 photojournalist Dave Sprung told anchor Eryka Washington he noticed a spot in the fence surrounding the school where a kid who wanted to run away from school could do so. Sprung traced the steps he thought the kid would take to get home when he saw something orange in the brush. He and his pilot directed the Sheriff’s office to the boy’s location.

The boy was checked out by paramedics and told Local 6 he was OK and that he was running away from school. He apparently got upset at a teacher before vanishing from school.
