One Anchor Leaves Grand Forks Station, Another Gets Promoted

WDAZ has promoted Stacie Van Dyke to 6:00 and 10:00 p.m. anchor to replace Molly Thorvilson who leaves the station today.

“It’s hard to see Molly go, but I am proud to promote Stacie to the position,” said Julie Moravchik, news director for the Grand Forks, ND, ABC station. “She is a hard worker, a great person and an all around class act. She is the perfect fit for this job.”

“It’s bittersweet for me to say goodbye, but I think WDAZ’s decision to promote Stacie is a good one,” said Thorvilson, who told the the Grand Forks Herald she is leaving for her dream job working at a mountain resort in Montana.

Van Dyke currently anchors the station’s 5:00 p.m. news. She moves to her new position on Monday.
