On the Move, 8/5/11

Stephen Cropper is staying in the Pittsburgh market, becoming the new chief meteorologist for WPXI.  Cropper leaves WTAE where he has been since 1995.

Matt Lorch is moving home to Seattle, where he’s set to become the new 5 p.m. anchor for KCPQ.  He leaves Boston’s WHDH where he anchored early evenings and reported.

Don Teague joins Fox O&O KRIV in Houston as primary anchor.  Teague departs CBS News where he was a Texas-based correspondent for the last two years, and prior, was with NBC News based in Dallas and Atlanta.

Melissa Long is returning to Atlanta to join WXIA as 10 p.m. anchor.  Most recently, Long was an anchor and correspondent for Bloomberg TV in New York.

Dave Carlin joins the staff of WCBS as a general assignment reporter.  Carlin previously held anchor positions in San Diego and Honolulu.

Michelle Relerford is moving home to Chicago, where she joins NBC O&O WMAQ as a reporter and fill-in anchor.  Relerford has been a reporter with WHDH in Boston for the past four years.

Mark Boyle is making the jump to a top-10 market, joining Post-Newsweek’s KPRC in Houston as the morning reporter.

Adrian Arambulo is promoted to Sunday morning anchor and reporter for KDFW in Dallas.  Arambulo has been a reporter for the station.

John Henry Smith has joined Comcast SportsNet Bay Area in San Francisco as a sports anchor and reporter.  Smith recently departed his sports director post at WVUE in New Orleans.

Crystal Cruz is moving to KTVK in Phoenix where she will report. Most recently, Cruz worked as a MMJ at Atlanta’s WGCL.

Lorena Rabago makes a 41-market jump from Fresno to Tampa, where she will be the traffic anchor for WTSP’s morning newscast.

Lauren Casey moves to WCCO in Minneapolis to be the new weekend evening meteorologist.  She trades in her flip flops for snow boots as she moves from WINK in Fort Myers, where she was the morning meteorologist.

Matt Brickman moves to WCCO in Minneapolis to be the weekend morning weather anchor.  Matt leaves WICD in Champaign, IL, where he was the morning and midday weather anchor.

Ebone Monet has joined WRTV in Indianapolis as a general assignment reporter.  She comes to WRTV from KTHV in Little Rock, where she also worked as a reporter.

Kimberly Rankin is set to join Sacramento’s KTXL as a MMJ.  Rankin has been the lead reporter for WIAT in Birmingham for the past three years and has covered a variety of breaking news from the Gulf oil spill to the most recent Tuscaloosa tornados.

Jeff Maher is joining Gannett’s KXTV in Sacramento as a MMJ.  Maher departs KOB in Albuquerque where he has been a lead reporter since 2006.

Mike Gonzalez is promoted to primary anchor at KXLY in Spokane, where he has been morning anchor for the last four years.

JiaoJiao Shen joins Scripps Howard as the morning reporter for KSHB in Kansas City.  Previously, Shen anchored and reported in Oklahoma City.

Chuck Fisher moves to “Sooner Territory” to cover sports for KWTV in Oklahoma City.  Most recently, Fisher covered sports for Comcast Bay Area.

Mike Stone recently moved to Richmond and is weekend meteorologist for WTVR.  Previously, Stone worked as weekend weather anchor for WTOL in Toledo.

Miri Marshall is joining the morning team at KCEN as meteorologist.  Most recently, Marshall worked at KFOX in El Paso, where she was weekend anchor, meteorologist, and reporter.

Angelique Tege hits the streets for Verizon’s FIOS-1 as the Long Island weekend morning reporter.  FIOS1 Long Island is Verizon’s hyper-local news channel.
