Meteorologist Jackie Layer makes an 88-market jump from South Bend’s WBND to NECN in Boston. Layer will start with NECN in August.

Anita Blanton has been promoted to primary weekday anchor at WAVY in Norfolk, Va., and has signed a new contract with the station.

Eatman Media welcomes new client, Kerry Barrett, anchor and reporter for WNBC in New York.

Mario Diaz, investigative and general assignment reporter for WPIX in New York, recently signed a new contract with the station.

Melissa Blasius has moved to KNXV in Phoenix as an investigative reporter. Blasius returns to Phoenix, where she reported for eight years, from Denver’s KUSA.

Martin Amado has been named host of SoFlo Home Project, a half-hour weekly home makeover program for WPLG in Miami.

Derek Forrest, sports reporter for Hearst’s WLKY in Louisville, moves to sister station WLWT in Cincinnati as sports reporter.

Dan Koob has joined WLKY in Louisville as sports reporter. Koob moves from Green Bay’s WGBA, where he was sports anchor/reporter.

Justin Ryan has signed a two-year deal to continue as meteorologist for New Haven station WTNH.

Cheryl Lemke is the new chief meteorologist at WICS in Springfield, Illinois. Lemke most recently worked at Omaha station WOWT.
