Meteorologist Jim Flowers says he’s leaving Omaha CBS affiliate KMTV on July 1.
He’s worked in Omaha for 34 years. He started at KMTV in 2013 after working at WOWT. He’s also worked at KETV.
“It might not be full retirement,” reports the Omaha World-Herald. “But Flowers will be stepping aside from broadcast, said Mark Halverson, a general manager of the E.W. Scripps Company, which operates KMTV.”
Flowers told viewers his recent induction into the Press Club Hall of Fame made him say, “You know what? It’s time to step away and kind of pass the baton and maybe look into doing something new.”
