By Aneya Fernando

At the end of the month, anchor Bill Griffith is retiring from KGTV, the San Diego ABC affiliate, after 39 years at the station. Before he leaves, Griffith is taking a stroll down memory lane by revisiting his 20 most memorable San Diego stories.

Griffith has been hitting the road in “Bill’s Excellent Adventure” RV with his soon-to-be-replacement, midday anchor Jason Martinez, since January 29.

One of his first assignments at the station was covering high school diver Greg Louganis‘ training. He went on to win gold medals at the 1984 and 1988 Olympics.

When Griffith went back to the high school yesterday, he was unexpectedly reunited with Louganis, all these years later. Watch the two reminisce in the clip above.
