Oklahoma Named a Bridge After Gary England

Former KWTV meteorologist Gary England and current vp of corporate relations and weather development at Griffin Communications now has a bridge named after him.

England had worked at KWTV for 41 years before moving up to the front office for KWTV’s parent company in 2013.

Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin signed a bill into law Monday naming a bridge over the North Canadian River near Seiling, Oklahoma the Meteorologist Gary England Bridge.

“Under the bill, ‘The Department of Transportation shall cause suitable permanent markers to be placed at the bridge bearing that name,'” reports Oklahoma Energy Today. “It takes effect on July 1, 2016.”
