Oklahoma City Anchor Breaks Hip Socket, Undergoes Surgery

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

KWTV Oklahoma city anchor Kelly Ogle is out for the foreseeable future. Ogle took to Facebook to tell viewers about an accident at home that left him with a shatter hip socket.

“A week ago, my wife and I were building ceiling shelves in the garage when I got my foot hung up in my 8-foot ladder and went crashing to the floor, Ogle said in his post. ‘I knew the instant I hit the concrete something bad had happened; the pain was excruciating!”

The anchor was immediately rolled into surgery.

“Now the next phase has started — recovering,” he said.

Ogle is now recovering but expects that to take eight weeks. He said he is dealing with nerve pain and numbness as well.

And while he’s unsure when he’ll return to the anchor desk, Ogle plans to keep viewers posted on his recovery through Facebook live.
