OKC Sports Anchor Tweets Apology for ‘Insensitive’ Remark

By Kevin Eck

Dean Blevins, sports director for Oklahoma City CBS affiliate KWTV, tweeted out an apology Wednesday for his Monday tweet and delete that said he’d be happier if gas station attendants learned to speak English.

In the tweet captured by media blog “The Lost Ogle” Blevins wrote, ““Happy we are the melting pot. Will be happier …if ppl who pour into our pot & sell me fuel & Milk Duds find time to learn our language.”

That was the second controversial tweet for Blevins in a five day period. On December 13, Blevins tweeted that one of his sources told him Alabama coach Nick Saban was joining Texas under a 10-year $100 million deal.

The report turned out to be wrong after Saban re-upped with Alabama.
