Iconic New York City cable news channel NY1 is undergoing another name change, this time rebranding as “Spectrum News NY1.”
The branding comes three years after Time Warner Cable backed off on plans to do away with the NY1 name in favor of Time Warner Cable News before settling on a clunky compromise: “Time Warner Cable News NY1.”
Time Warner Cable, since acquired by Charter Communications, began transitioning Time Warner Cable and Bright House cable systems to the Spectrum branding, which took effect in New York Tuesday.
