North Platte’s New CBS Station Chooses Downtown Studio

Gray Television has chosen the corner of Fourth and Dewey in downtown Platte as home base for KNPL, the new CBS affiliate for North Platte, NE.

“We looked at a number of possible spots,” 10/11 news director Sue Ramsett told the North Platte Bulletin. “But kept coming back to the downtown location. We liked the idea of being in the heart of the city and were charmed by the brick streets and history of the area.”

In March, Gray announced it was launching KNPL as the first CBS affiliate for North Platte. Gray also owns the CBS affiliates in Lincoln (KOLN) and Grand Island (KGIN), branding them as 10/11. KNPL begins broadcasting in early September and will become “10/11 North Platte,” broadcasting a mix of local programming with programs from the Lincoln and Grand Island stations.

The station said it would add a news set, a green room, production and editing stations, a creative services area and space for sales and marketing to the downtown North Platte building.
