Noah Finz Is Fifth Anchor to Depart WTNH This Year

By Chris Ariens

Noah Finz, who spent more than 18 years at WTNH in New Haven, Conn., is leaving the station.

Finz, who is sports director for the ABC station, tells The Laurel his contract was up at the end of December and he is set to take on an “exciting, new project.”

Finz is the fifth WTNH anchor to leave the station this year: morning anchor Chris Velardi departed in March for a job in PR; Velardi’s replacement Jim Watkins departed a few months later; meteorologist Kyla Grogan left the station in July; and, two months after the morning show pup was shown the door in July, his owner, morning anchor Ali Reed, left WTNH.

“The news industry and its sports model is changing,” Finz told The Laurel. “That’s why the timing of this is so perfect.” For the last six years, Finz has also been a partner in P Garyn Productions which produces videos for businesses in Westchester County, N.Y. and Fairfield County, Conn.
