Nexstar Media Group’s 17 full power and 2 low power Fox stations will remain affiliated with the network through at least 2019. Nextar operates another 12 Fox affiliates owned by other entities and they too will remain with Fox for the foreseeable future.

The deal takes into account new delivery platforms including OTT programming and other internet-delivered services.

“We are delighted to extend our affiliation agreements with FOX and add OTT digital distribution rights,” said Perry Sook, Nexstar’s chairman and CEO. “Our new agreement reflects the complementary value that FOX’s programming brings to our viewers and stations when combined with Nexstar’s unique, locally-produced news programming and other content.” Sook says the addition of the OTT master agreement creates “a new revenue stream for Nexstar.”
